Where are you?

I call you again and again
yet you don't respond
And when you do, you say
"What do you need?"
And all I want to say is,
"It's nearly Christmas,
and yet you're not at home.
Please mommy where are you?
I want you home."
Please, mommy come sit by the fire with me
You said you'd be back
but I know you really don't care
Because it's not this home you go to
after work, instead
You go out "there" says daddy.
Please mommy,
I don't know where you are.
But all I want for Christmas is for you to be here.
